Afro-soul star Donald Moatshe has nothing but admiration for singer-songwriter Lwah Ndlunkulu, especially for her role in their heartfelt collaboration, Indlelenhle.

The song, released on 7 February as part of Donald’s latest album, Train of Love 2, has received widespread praise. Reflecting on the recording process, Donald shared that it was a deeply spiritual experience. He and his team even felt the presence of the late music icon Zahara in the studio.

Speaking to Daily Sun, Donald revealed that featuring Lwah Ndlunkulu was a dream come true for him.

“Lwah Ndlunkulu is probably my favourite female musician in South Africa right now and has been for the past few years. Working with her was an incredible experience. I had already recorded my verse and chorus when Xowla, Sjijo Majikijo, and I felt she would elevate the song to another level. Xowla made the call, and she wasted no time. She showed up and recorded her verse effortlessly,” he said.

One of the most unforgettable moments happened when Lwah Ndlunkulu sang a specific line that instantly reminded everyone of Zahara.

“After she sang ‘Dali, forever and ever’, we all jumped up in excitement and shouted ‘Zahara’. It was such a spiritual moment because I don’t think she realised what she had just done. That moment gave me chills and goosebumps. Her verse took the song to another level and made it a classic one that will be played for years to come,” Donald recalled.

Beyond the powerful collaboration, Donald shared that Indlelenhle reflects his personal and musical growth.

“This song reflects where I am in life right now. At this stage, I’m surrounded by weddings, marriage, and family—everything that symbolises growth and maturity. Indlelenhle is an addition to the many Afro-pop songs that will stand the test of time,” he said.
