Fans were buzzing with excitement to see their favourite stars live on stage, especially the international superstar Doja Cat, who was set to headline the Hey Neighbour Festival this August. But that excitement will have to wait a little longer—organisers have officially postponed the festival to December 2025.
The much-loved music festival, which was scheduled for August, was expected to be one of the biggest events of the year. Music lovers were looking forward to seeing top acts like Doja Cat, Central Cee, Black Coffee, and Leon Thomas, all on one stage. But now, the stage lights will only come on in December.
The festival organisers shared that the change was made to ensure the long-term success and sustainability of the event. While the announcement left many disappointed, the team behind Hey Neighbour said they’re working hard to make sure that the festival will be even better than before.
Hey Neighbour CEO Glen Netshipise spoke out about the difficult decision and addressed the concerns from fans, sponsors, and artists. He admitted that communication about the festival’s challenges hadn’t been clear and apologised for the confusion.
“As CEO of Hey Neighbour Festival, I want to acknowledge the disappointment caused by the postponement of the 2025 event,” said Netshipise. “We understand the impact this has on our loyal festival-goers, sponsors, and artists. We also recognise that our communication around the challenges we’ve faced hasn’t been as clear as it should have been, and for that, we sincerely apologise.”
He promised better communication moving forward and thanked everyone for their continued patience and loyalty.
“Moving forward, we are committed to improving our transparency and communication, ensuring that everyone is kept informed as we work towards delivering an even better festival in December 2025. We truly appreciate your continued support and patience as we navigate these challenging yet exciting times,” he added.
Netshipise also expressed gratitude to everyone who has stood by the festival through this change.
“We are incredibly grateful for the support of our sponsors, artists, and attendees. Their faith in us is helping to ensure that we can deliver the best possible festival experience.”
While fans may have to wait a few more months, the promise of a powerful lineup and improved experience in December gives them something even bigger to look forward to.
