Congratulations are in order for DJ Zinhle and Murdah Bongz who tied the knot following a lobola ceremony six months ago. The revelation was made on the second season premier episode of DJ Zinhle’s reality show on BET.
Zinhle and Bongz became a couple after Bongz reportedly slid into Zinhle’s DMs on Instagram. A year later they started dating and eventually became parents to their daughter Asante. “I remember the one time; I think a year ago when I got a DM [direct message] from Murdah Bongz. And when I read this message it said, ‘I like you a lot’. And then I read and thought, ‘I win, he likes me’. He is a smart guy, but he does keep to himself. It takes a lot for him to open up to people,” Zinhle shared about the beginning of their relationship.
Despite having sounded off about marriage in the first season of her reality show, Zinhle shared her excited as she detailed how the lobola went down and how she feels about being a wife.
“Bongani wants to be a served husband. He doesn’t want to be called boyfriend anymore. There has been a lot of changes since you guys last saw me. Bongani and his family came to my mom’s house to negotiate lobola. And we decided that it should be a small thing, with just family. I just never had ambitions to get married. I never wanted it, I never felt like I was with anyone I wanted to marry but Bongani and I spent a lot of time talking about it thinking about what we want to do. I’m excited to be his wife, I’m excited to try something I never would of thought would happen for me. So now I’m married and I love telling people that,” Zinhle explained in her reality show.
