DJ Zinhle is inviting all her fans to be part of her next big project—her new album, Zee Nation. And this time, it’s not just about the music. She wants her fans, who she lovingly calls her “besties,” to shine with her on the album cover.
The 42-year-old DJ, whose real name is Zinhle Jiyane, has come up with a fun and creative way to include her fans in this special project. She asked people to upload their best photos on TikTok using the hashtag #ZeeNationFaceCard. So far, over 2,400 fans have sent in their pictures!

“Honestly, this project is as much about my fans as it is about the music,” she told Daily Sun. “The Zee Nation has been with me through every season, from the decks to the boardroom, and it felt only right that they become part of this chapter.”
Zinhle shared that the idea came while she was chatting with her husband Bongani. “We wanted to create something that celebrates the community behind the music. This collage cover felt so powerful, it’s a facecard for all of us,” she said.
She also mentioned how touched she is by all the photos being sent. “Every photo, every smile, every submission feels like a love letter from the Zee Nation. It’s a reminder about the deep connection. I call them my besties because they’ve supported me like real friends. This cover is just a small way to honour that energy. We see each other.”
Zinhle said this album is more than just beats and songs and it tells a bigger story. “The Zee Nation is more than just a name, it’s a movement. It’s the people who believe in me, dance with me and grow with me. The album is a sonic love letter to them. It’s bold, it’s layered, it’s rooted in African excellence, and tells real stories, from the turn-up to the spiritual.”
But that’s not all—Zinhle will also host the Zee Nation Fest on 9 August, where artists from different music genres will join her on stage. There will even be a gospel section.
“This year, we’re taking things to a whole new level. It’s not only a concert, it’s a celebration of culture, unity and music that moves the soul,” she said. “Expect world-class performances, unexpected collabs, emotional moments and pure joy.”
Adding gospel to the show was also deeply personal for her. “Faith has always played a huge role in my life. I wanted to create space at the festival for gratitude, reflection and spiritual connection. Including gospel was about honouring that side of who we are. It’s a moment for us to be lifted together.”
