2024 has been a milestone year for South African DJ and entrepreneur, Zinhle Jiyane, as she marks 20 years in the music industry. The year has been filled with huge achievements, including the success of her first-ever music festival, ZeeNation, which brought fans and artists together for an unforgettable experience.
Now, DJ Zinhle has reached another major milestone: being voted the number one female DJ in Africa. “What an incredible year it’s been! Being named Africa’s No. 1 again feels especially emotional this time around, particularly after the amazing @ZeeNationFest. I know this moment of celebration is all because of YOU—my Bestie, my partner in every dream, and my biggest supporter,” she shared with her fans on social media. “I want to express my deepest gratitude for your unwavering belief in me throughout this journey. All glory to God! My ancestors truly love to show off.”
The recognition comes after DjaneTop, a leading online platform for DJ rankings, released its Top 100 Female DJs in Africa list. DJ Zinhle took the top spot, with other South African talents like Lerato Kganyago (No. 2), DBN Gogo (No. 5), Lady Amar, and Lamiez Holworthy also making the list.
DJ Zinhle’s achievements don’t stop there. She also made a significant jump in the global DJ scene, climbing from No. 66 in 2023 to No. 33 in the 2024 Top 100 female DJs worldwide. Lerato Kganyago was ranked at No. 85, and Swaziland-born DJ Uncle Waffles, known as the “Princess of Amapiano,” made her debut at No. 90.
