DJ Shimza Clears the Air After Chris Excel Gets His Age Wrong

Award-winning DJ and producer Kholofelo Ashley Raphala, better known as DJ Shimza, recently found himself laughing off some online drama after popular X (formerly Twitter) personality Chris Excel got his age completely wrong.

It all started when Chris Excel tweeted: “The fact that the age cap between Mbalula and Shimza is only 2 years is insane.”

Chris was comparing Shimza’s age to that of Fikile Mbalula, the former South African Minister of Police who is now 54 years old. This comparison, however, didn’t sit well with Shimza because it was way off the mark.

Shimza quickly clapped back in a lighthearted way, tweeting: “Can someone please help me change my age on Google. I’m not 41 and nothing close to what this thing called Chris says I am.”

The confusion seems to have started with Wikipedia, where Shimza’s age was mistakenly listed as 51 years old. Setting the record straight, Shimza revealed that he is actually 36 years old, proudly declaring: “I’m so 36.”

Once the mistake was fixed on Google, Shimza cheekily thanked Chris Excel for unintentionally helping him: “You actually helped me wena @ChrisExcel102. You deserve a share of that money we took from that other account. Thank you.”

Fans on X found their back-and-forth hilarious and quickly jumped into the conversation.

User @ThaboMohoba said: “Your interactions with Chris are hilarious, they remind me of that one toxic friend you have who’s bittersweet, you need but not want.”

Another user, @curiousluvo, suggested Shimza edit his Wikipedia himself: “Edit your Wikipedia page and correct it there. Popular search engines heavily use Wikipedia. Your wiki says you’re at least 50.”

Meanwhile, @MzamoDudula couldn’t resist joking about Shimza’s playful money comment: “You’re naughty wena Shimza, confessing on the TL like this. Authorities must deal with you, I wash my hands!”

What started as a mix-up turned into a lighthearted exchange that entertained social media users. At least now, fans know the truth — DJ Shimza is 36, not 41 or 51.
