We know it’s been a while since you’ve seen Sbu’s name in the papers right? Well it seems that the DJ has been behaving himself lately.

dj sbu successful

He’s probably one of the biggest entrepreneurs we know in the entertainment industry and we just hope that soon all his gambles pay off.

Sbu has always said the industry has been quite tough on him, only because people have never understood his hustle and where wants to be with it.

Speaking to Sowetan he shared the challenges he’s faced on his journey and some of the boundaries he’s broken in his industry and adds that he had to stay positive after facing several marketing attempts and negative press.

As we all know Sbu actually lost his job at Metro FM as a result of one of these marketing attempts and he also almost ran into a law suit with Forbes Africa.

“If I was a white kid I would be called a genius. But I am a black kid so they call me a guerrilla marketer.  It is because what I am doing is brilliant. I am one of the best marketers in my generation,” Sbu says.

“My track record speaks for itself that am not a lazy person, but a go-getter,” he adds.

Sbu then goes on to add that South Africans have “the mentality of self-entitlement” and that “young people do not appreciate our country enough.”

Well let’s just hope that he’s Leadership2020 campaign will soon help young people appreciate their country a little more…as we wait.
