Dineo Ranaka Reveals Reason Behind Her Social Media Silence. The radio and television personality’s social media absence and silence has been quite notable. Ranaka made a comeback sharing why she hadn’t been active on her socials.
Dineo is known for occasionally posting on her social media platforms, about issues ranging from family dynamics, African spirituality and even addressing some people directly from her Instagram live.
In early 2022, amid her suspension from Metro FM, Dineo took to her Instagram to share how she was dealing with her anxiety, saying “So I made anxiety apparel and I wear it to remind myself that I’m OK. If you’re going through the most and need a reminder that you’re OK, my anxiety apparel is for you too.”
“We all fight battles. Some public, some private. The greatest battle is the mental battle to keep our anxiety under control. Not many win this battle but many try. I created something. It’s just tees and sweaters, but when I wear them I feel reminded to breathe and calm my anxiety so it stays under control,” she concluded.
In a surprising announcement, of a three part series titled Find Your Feet, she revealed that her silence was due to the fact that she had been doing a lot of inner work. “I have been thinking, quite a lot. I’ve been thinking about… how I’ve been feeling, life experiences, in the past three years, how it’s made me feel and how they’ve changed me,” Ranaka said.
“I’ve been in a state of stress and anxiety, just trying to figure out how I’m going to re-navigate myself from the psychological trauma … I’ve been doing a lot reflection, soul searching, of having a deep conversation with myself. I think the solution I’ve got, it’s all giving me stress and making me anxious … making me congested mentally,” she concluded.
In part two of the series, released on Wednesday, 22 March, Dineo further explain how she was beginning to create some separation between herself and her triggers/anything overwhelming her. Adding that she was determined to making sure most of her feelings of discomfort were being alleviated.
