Dineo Ranaka Answers Her Ancestral Calling. We have seen a number of celebs open up about answering their ancestral callings and embark on a traditional healing journey away from the public. Another well known celeb has revealed that they too are embarking on the same journey as they have now embraced the calling. Metro FM radio host Dineo Ranaka is the latest celeb to become a traditional healer and she is now known as Gogo Somahashe.
The Sunday World publication has reported that the mother of three has welcomed the gift from her great-great-grandfather from her maternal side after 17 years. The now 37 year old revealed how she fell ill in her early 20s, which led to her hospitalisation and doctors not knowing what led to her illness.
She mentioned that her illness brought about dreams and visions which she had never experienced before. Dineo shared how she met her mentor Dr Ngwato, who has guided her through her journey and has taught her how to channel her gift in the correct way.
“I was introduced to my traditional mentor Dr Ngwato through my makeup artist Nthabiseng, who is related to him. I didn’t even think to consult Dr Ngwato, I was actually engaging him on a documentary I wanted to shoot because he heals drug addicts, and through my work I did with Yi,’Lo, I found that darkness very engaging and I wanted to engage with it further through the eyes of a traditional healer” Ranaka said.
The Metro FM presenter shared how Dr Ngwato made her aware that she is unable to run away from her gift and would ultimately find herself in initiation school, which is exactly what has happened. Dineo shared that her traditional healing title required her to forget about her other roles in life and connect purely to nature.
“Undergoing the ancestral training is very intense. A lot of it requires you to forget about yourself completely. It requires you to forget your image and the status that you’ve built in your world. You need to strip yourself down and be one with nature. she said.
Gogo Somahashe has completed her training and is now qualified to heal people through natural medicines and through the power of spoken word.
“We spent a lot of time in the mountains digging trees and being taught natural medicines. As it stands I am a qualified traditional healer, I graduated last week. This means I can heal people through the power of spoken word and natural medicine” she said.
Dineo is not the only celeb who recently graduated from initiation school as comedian and actor Toll Ass Mo also recently became a traditional healer.
