Denise Zimba, who captured viewers’ attention with her role as Mary on Generations in 2014, is back on the screen for Generations: The Legacy. Known for her feisty character who tried to steal Tau from Karabo, Denise made a memorable comeback, though her role this time was brief. Reflecting on her return, Denise told Daily Sun, “The Generations team will always be family to me. It helped my career in my early days, and I’ll forever be grateful for the opportunity. My character was never killed off, luckily, and it was just great divine timing.”

Returning to set was a nostalgic experience. “It was surreal to be back on set with new faces and characters. Many actors I worked alongside have moved on to amazing things, but it was such a fun time working with the current cast,” she said.

Since her Generations days, Denise has focused on family life and raising her two daughters, Leah (5) and Mila (14 months). “Motherhood is a 24/7 job. It’s the hardest job in the world and doesn’t get enough credit. Our children give us room to grow and evolve,” she shared, laughing about how exhausting yet fulfilling it is to be a mom.

As she navigates a difficult divorce, Denise is prioritising herself and her daughters. “My number one priority is my girls, their well-being and mine,” she said. Despite personal challenges, Denise has exciting projects lined up. She’s working on a show with Cindy Nell, with whom she starred in Wedding Bashers, and is an ambassador for Catrice Cosmetics Africa. Looking forward, Denise hinted at exploring radio, reality TV, and more with Madevu Entertainment. “Casting is always on the go for me, so hopefully, more things to come,” she added with optimism.
