The debut episode of the six-part reality TV series “Crown Chasers” kicked off with an exciting announcement of this year’s Top 16 Miss South Africa 2024 contestants. Airing weekly on S3, the show offers fans an intimate look at the journey of the contestants competing for the prestigious title.
Gauteng leads the pack with nine representatives, including four from Soweto. Mpumalanga follows with three contestants, while the Eastern Cape, KwaZulu-Natal, North West, and Western Cape each have one representative.
The Top 16 contestants are: Chidimma Adetshina, Kebalepile Ramafoko, Kirsten Khan, Layla Zoubair, Lebohang Khoza, Lethaukuthula Maseko, Mia Le Roux, Naledi Matlakala, Nobuhle Langa, Nolene Spinks, Nompumelelo Maduna, Onalenna Constantin, Ontshiametse Tlhopane, Palesa Lombard, Reinette Potgieter, and Taahira Katz.
Each contestant brings a unique background and set of achievements to the competition:
-Chidimma Adetshina (23) from Pimville, Soweto, is a model, netball player, and Bachelor of Law student at Varsity College.
Kebalepile Ramafoko (25) from Emalahleni, Mpumalanga, holds a BA in psychology and languages and is pursuing an honors degree.
Kirsten Khan (26) from Roodepoort, has a diploma in architectural drafting from Damelin College and is a model.
Layla Zoubair (29) from Kempton Park, Gauteng, thrives on challenges and exploration.
Lebohang Khoza (27) from Maritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal, is a choreographer, actor, and performing arts educator with a BA from the University of KwaZulu-Natal.
Lethaukuthula Maseko (24) from Daveyton, known as the “Diamond From Daveyton,” is a beacon of hope and resilience.
Mia Le Roux (28) from Sasolburg, Free State, and Oudtshoorn, Western Cape, is a marketing manager, model, and part-time BCom marketing student.
Naledi Matlakala (24) from Midrand, Gauteng, is a BCom Law student with a BA in Psychology and Criminology from the University of Pretoria.
Nobuhle Langa (26) from Emalahleni, Mpumalanga, is an audit trainee aiming to become a chartered accountant.
Nolene Spinks (23) from Gqeberha, Eastern Cape, is driven by big dreams and hard work.
Nompumelelo Maduna (28) from Rockville, Soweto, is a marketer pursuing a Master’s degree at the University of Johannesburg.
Onalenna Constantin (26) from Potchefstroom, is a model, law student, entrepreneur, and content creator.
Ontshiametse Tlhopane (23) from Protea Glen, Soweto, is passionate about criminology.
Palesa Lombard (25) from Waverley, Johannesburg, is a final-year medical student interested in neurological pathologies.
Reinette Potgieter (26) from Trichardt, Mpumalanga, is a dedicated teacher with a BEd from the University of Pretoria.
Taahira Katz (25) from Nancefield, Soweto, is a global model with a degree in social science.
Judges Leandie du Randt, Lerato Kganyago, and Miss South Africa Organisation CEO Stephanie Weil were joined by surprise guest Bonang Matheba. Bonang congratulated the contestants, saying, “Each and every one of you is on a journey, and that is what life is about. Each day you write down two more pages in a chapter that ultimately fill up the book of your life.”
