Court Rules Lerato Sengati Is HHP’s Wife, Interdict To Stop Funeral Denied! It’s been a hectic couple of days between HHP’s widow Lerato Sengadi and the rapper’s family as they dragged each other to court to fight for the right to bury Jabba.
Judge Ratha Mokgoatlheng of the South Gauteng High Court has ruled that HHP and Lerato Sengadi were married according to customary law but threw away her request to bury him in Johannesburg.
The judge said that under normal circumstances, as HHP’s customary wife, Sengadi has the right to stop the funeral but based on convenience and the concept of Ubuntu, he is denying the application.
Sengadi wanted to bury HHP in Johannesburg and also wanted the court to grant her access to the late musician’s body and rights to arrange his funeral.
