Condolences Continue To Pour In For Actor Mncedisi Shabangu. Sad news to come out of the weekend as the South African entertainment industry says goodbye to another one of their own, Mncedisi Shabangu who was an actor, producer, playwright and theatre director.

The actor’s brother and family spokesperson, Mthokozisi Shabangu, confirmed the sad news saying Mncedisi passed on in the early hours of Sunday after complaining about chest pains. “He just complained about chest pains. It was a short notice sickness … he was rushed to the clinic and on arrival he was certified dead,” he told TshisaLIVE.

A statement was also shared on Facebook which reads, “He passed away in the early hours of this morning. The family appreciates all the messages of condolences and requests privacy in this difficult time. Memorial and funeral arrangements will be announced soon.” “Rest Easy my brother until we meet again. Your Wife and family will always love you,” the brother also captioned the statement.

He was well known for his legendary roles including his portrayal of Khulekani Ngobese in Rhythm City which he won a Golden Horn Award for Best Supporting Actor in a TV Soap for. In 2004, he was awarded the Standard Bank Young Artist Award. He was also in shows like iNumber Number and Vaya.

Condolences have since been pouring in for the actor from his industry peers. See some of them below.

We can never forget Ta Mnce’s performance in Tshepang and Sizwe Banzi is Dead. A masterclass🥹. His biggest performance was how he loves and nurtured the arts, and all of us in it. He made the time. He was a good, good person, and friend. Silahlekelwe💔🥺😭. #RIPMncedisiShabangu
