South African DJ and Skeem Saam actor Clement Maosa celebrated a special milestone this week as his son, Bokang, turned five. The proud father took to Instagram to share photos from the Manchester City-themed birthday party and expressed his deep love and gratitude for his son.
“Today, 5 years ago, a star was born,” Clement wrote, referring to his son as Bokang Mokgethwa, which means “Praise The Chosen One.” He added, “One of the most gentle, smartest, handsome human beings I’ve ever met, besides me. He is a constant reminder of how much God loves us and His favor in our lives.”
Clement’s touching tribute revealed just how much his son means to him, describing Bokang as a laid-back and understanding child. “Even for his birthday gifts, he said: ‘I don’t know, whatever you can get, dad,’” Clement shared. “He is my Day 1, a young version of me but a bit shy. Pity his mom didn’t allow me to call him Clement Jr,” he joked.
On his Instagram story, Clement reflected on a difficult time two years ago when Bokang was in the ICU, and he feared losing him. “I couldn’t go to work for a month because my boy was in ICU, and I thought I was losing him,” Clement revealed in his Instagram story. “Two days later, I was admitted for a panic attack because I couldn’t bear the thought of losing him. Tomorrow, he is turning five, and we give thanks to the Almighty because he bounced back strong!”
The celebration was extra special for young Bokang, who had requested a Manchester City-themed party. “He said he wants a Manchester City-themed celebration, and me and his mom said, that’s exactly what he is getting,” Clement shared on his Instagram story.
