Claire Mawisa Opens Up On Those Malik Yoba Dating Rumors

The beautiful Claire Mawisa sparked some romance rumors with hunky American actor Malik Yoba back in 2013. Fast forward to earlier this week Claire set the record straight on if it really happened or not. Claire Mawisa opens up on those Malik Yoba dating rumors.

Speaking to Anele, Claire revealed Malik saw her when she was still working at Khaya FM but they never met. “We actually never spoke when he saw me. He came to the Kaya FM building, as one of the producers had booked him for an interview. We never spoke and nobody introduced us,” she explained.

On becoming friends, Claire says the actor tweeted her and their friendship grew from there. “He Malik was explaining to somebody that he saw somebody in South Africa with dreadlocks, really beautiful. The girl was like ‘is it Claire?’ And he was like ‘I don’t know’. Then she googles my face, [and asks] ‘Is this her?’ And he’s like ‘Oh my goodness, that’s her’. And then she’s like ‘She’s on Twitter, tweet her’.”

From there the two became friends, spoke on the phone and even skyped but are yet to meet in person. As much as we wish this was a beautiful love story, Claire says there’s no romantic  connection. “There is no love connection. There is no romance. I think he was really overzealous.”
