Celebs React To Busiswa Opening Up About Her Previous Abusive Relationships. GBV is a critical issue not only in South Africa but around the world, and proving that it could happen to anyone, award winning vocalist Busiswa shared her encounter of not one but two abusive relationships.

In a lengthy twelve minute video, Busiswa revealed that she was in two abusive relationships between 2013 and 2019, this including her baby daddy Katlego Mlangeni who has abused the singer financially, emotionally and physically in the course of their relationship.

She further mentioned that Mlangeni physically assaulted her four months after they broke up, however in this video she mainly wanted to focus on appealing to women who find themselves in the same situation to not lay the blame on themselves because it’s not your fault.

“I’m hear to say to ladies who are in that situation who who might come across god forbid, you can’t, it’s not your place. it’s not your responsibility, it’s not your job to change an abuser” she said.

During both relationships, she took the beatings and the abuse because she was ashamed that the stigma of the abuse would forever hang over her career and the situation would soon be turned into a joke however, she is sharing her truth because she now realises that it’s not her job to protect an abuser.

Many industry friends, women in particular reached out to Busiswa offering her words of encouragement and messages of comfort, highlighting that she is a brave and strong woman for coming out on the otherwise of both relationships.
