Jojo Robinson, a popular star of The Real Housewives of Durban, has been open about her recent facelift surgery, and her husband, Calven Robinson, is fully supportive of her decision. In an interview with Daily Sun, Calven expressed his happiness for Jojo and emphasised how important it is for her to do what makes her feel good.
“As a man, I find it a lot easier for me to go to the gym, train, and tone my body. If that’s what makes her happy, I will definitely support her,” Calven shared. “Also, she is in the spotlight, and everybody is looking at them.”
Jojo, 38, is still in the recovery process, as she’s just four weeks post-surgery. “It takes up to three months to heal,” she said, acknowledging that the journey has been challenging but worth it. She also hopes to help normalise plastic surgery, especially facelifts, by sharing her experience publicly.
“A lot of the time, people who do these surgeries hide it and don’t talk about it,” Jojo explained. “Honestly, it makes it harder for women who want the surgery to look at women who did them and have more information about it.” She added that by showing her journey, she hopes to provide more transparency and support for others considering similar procedures.
Jojo also shared her belief in the importance of self-care. “I love skincare, and I try to make sure that I’m extra with skincare because I’m always on TV,” she said, emphasising how much she values taking care of herself both physically and mentally.
As a public figure, Jojo has faced her share of criticism, but she has learned to handle it better over the years. “In the beginning, I took it personally. Now, five years later, I don’t take it personally, but every now and then, I just type a little message back and then I later delete it,” she said with a laugh. “I’ve had people who’ve said something hateful on socials but then see me in person and love me.”
