Bryoni Govender is gearing up to represent South Africa at the upcoming Miss Universe pageant in El Salvador, a feat that comes with historical significance as she will be the first person of Indian heritage to do so since Miss SA 1997 Kerishnie Naiker, who made it to the Miss Universe Top 10 in 1998.
