Brinnette Seopela, a former star of the Real Housewives of Johannesburg, has decided to step away from reality TV, citing concerns for her mental well-being. Seopela, who was a key part of the show’s A-list cast for two seasons, revealed her decision in an interview with ZiMoja.
Reflecting on her time in the spotlight, Seopela, whose failed marriage was once televised, expressed no regrets about her past choices but vowed never to invite cameras into her private life again. “I learned the hard way. TV is toxic, and unfortunately, I am too old for that,” she explained. Instead, Seopela plans to focus on behind-the-scenes roles in the industry. “There is something I am part of, and my involvement is behind the scenes. I will reveal that soon,” she teased.
In addition to her career shift, Seopela opened up about her personal life. After losing her fiancé late last year, she is now engaged to a member of a royal family in North West. She chose not to disclose his name, citing the family’s reserved nature. Despite her history of being married once and engaged multiple times, Seopela is in no rush to walk down the aisle again. “We do not have a wedding date yet. We are happy and want to enjoy each other before taking that step,” she said, adding that she has significantly reduced her social circle to maintain privacy.
Addressing her reputation as a “serial bride,” Seopela laughed off the label. “I don’t understand why people call me that. I have only been married once and engaged twice or thrice,” she said with a chuckle.
As Seopela embarks on this new chapter, she remains focused on maintaining her mental health and cherishing her current relationship, away from the pressures and scrutiny of reality TV.
