Despite her absence from the screen, acclaimed actress Brenda Ngxoli continues to make waves in the South African entertainment industry. Recently, her exceptional talent was recognised with a prestigious nomination at the 2024 South African Film and Television Awards (SAFTAs). Brenda has been nominated for Best Supporting Actress in a Feature Film for her compelling portrayal of Brigadier Nandi Donga in iNumber Number: Jozi Gold.

According to Daily Sun, Brenda expressed her excitement and gratitude for the nomination, reflecting on what it means to her after some time away from the spotlight. “The nomination means a lot to me as it gives me hope that I am still part of the acting industry,” she shared.

Brenda’s passion for her craft is evident, and she highlighted the importance of recognition in an industry where validation often plays a significant role. “If you are talented, you know you are talented. You don’t need someone else to tell you. But somehow, you need recognition to revive your spirit and encourage you to do more,” she said.

At 43, Brenda is going head-to-head with industry veterans like Jennifer Steyn from The Fragile King and June van Merch from Hans Steek die Rubicon Oor for the coveted award. But for Brenda, just being nominated is a victory in itself. “If I take the award, that would be a bonus. But a nomination is everything,” she added with humility.
