Bontle Modiselle Reflects on Her Powerful 2016 Journey

Actress, choreographer and media personality Bontle Modiselle has joined the popular 2016 throwback trend, and fans are loving every bit of her honest reflection. Sharing her memories, Bontle wrote: “2016 hey? Walk with me. It was a beautiful year. The era of the 3 dots on my forehead. I had the honor of co-hosting a Talent reality show called ‘Showville’ alongside Rob Van Vuuren on SABC 2 – and Cwebezela dedicated a poem to me hope you’re well wherever you are).”

She went on to reflect on her growth in the entertainment industry, from hosting to choreography. “From hosting to being one of the Choreographers on Lip Sync Battle Africa for MTV (guests included Boity, Pearl Thusi, Denrele to name a few),” she shared.

Bontle also spoke about moments that felt like a preview of what was coming next in her career. “Then life did one of those things where it previewed what was next, having appeared as a guest with Denise Zimba (previously was one of her dancers) on Club 808 on ETV, shortly before being cast as a co-host on the final season alongside Lawrence Maleka the following year. What a time.”

Her memories continued with major milestones such as attending award shows and fashion events. “We attended our first MetroM Awards, attended our first Cruz SA Fashion Week, and guest presented an award at the SAFTAs.”

Bontle also reflected on fun moments, friendships and love. “We were beach bums with Akhumzi. we danced in heels and showed the nation what good knees we had, I loved on my sisters and then fiancé, now husband.”

She ended her reflection with gratitude, writing: “Sikulile shem. Thank you 2016. A blessing you were.”
