Bonang breaks silence on the Uganda gig backlash. The media personality reps finally put out a statement after she came under fire from the gay community for accepting a gig in a country that does not support gay rights.
According to the statement, Bonang’s booking agents assured her the “Uganda Entertainment Awards were representative of Uganda’s entertainment diversity.” Bonang revealed that she stands firm in respecting ”human rights of all kinds” but will not cancel the gig.
The statement also states that Bonang has “instructed her booking agents to look into the contractual obligations entered on her behalf”.
