The Black Coffee Foundation, in partnership with Music Arena, has announced an exciting event titled “An Honest Conversation with Black Coffee.” This music conference and exhibition will take place on November 15 at the Empire Venue in Parktown, and promises to be a unique gathering of music industry leaders, artists, and cultural influencers.

According to TshisaLIVE, the event aims to bring new ideas and key insights into the music world, creating a space for industry professionals to connect with creatives and decision-makers. Among those expected to attend are well-known artists like Oskido, Sjava, Vinny da Vinci, Major League, Slikour, DJ Fresh, and Unathi Nkayi, as well as the Minister of Sport, Art, and Culture, Gayton McKenzie.

Several major players from the music world—including record labels, digital streaming platforms, and royalty agencies—will also be present. The conference will be led by DJ Black Coffee, who will share his insights on “Adapting to the Ever-Changing Music Business Landscape.” The event will be hosted by Greg Maloka and will feature several panel discussions and workshops, including:

   •       The Importance of Understanding the Business of Music

   •       Future Skills Trends for the Music Industry

   •       Are Digital Streaming Services Doing Enough for Artists?

   •       Diverse Revenue Opportunities for Artists

   •       Financial Planning and Sustainability for Artists

   •       Music as a Driver of National Identity

   •       Accessing Sponsorship, Funding, and Crowdfunding

The Black Coffee Foundation, known for its efforts in helping struggling South Africans through education and social support, is behind this initiative. Through events like these, the foundation aims to bring people together and build a stronger, more resilient South African community.

In addition to the discussions, the exhibition will allow companies to present their products and connect with an audience of artists and industry leaders, giving them a chance to enhance their visibility in both the African and global music industries.
