If you’re planning on making millions, or plan on becoming a billionaire like Patrice Motsepe or Bill Gates any time soon, you’d know there’s a lot of variables, one of which being rich parents. So many try to find other ways to make their dreams come true.
Some people try their luck in a DOGE casino with the hopes of winning big. Others try to make money in manageable ways using small investments, such as real estate or stocks. The new cryptocurrency craze currently sweeping the market is quickly becoming the go-to way for many to make their fortune, using the likes of Bitcoin Exchanges to buy low and sell high. In fact, this method is quite a new addition to businesses and financial investments all over the world. As technology has evolved we have managed to make a new currency and bring success in trading with it. We can even gamble with it too, on sites like Betchain and other similar. This makes you realize how far we have come not only in the economy but in general, internationally.
While these can all be legitimate ways to make money, it’s important that such endeavours do not consume us. Patrice Motsepe suggests that obsessing over becoming a billionaire is overrated and that you should focus on a route that has your happiness at heart.
According to Forbes Magazine 51-year-old Patrice Motsepe is the only black billionaire in South Africa and the fourth richest man in our country.
The mining guru apparently tried to convince the students of TUT (Tshwane University Of Technology) that being a billionaire is overrated.
Motsepe was quoted saying: “Money doesn’t mean that you’ll be happy. Money is very, very important and if there is something you can do to improve your income then you can do it. But having it doesn’t mean you’ll be happy. So always pursue what you think makes you happy.” – So what he’s basically saying is, don’t go where the gold is, like he did, go where’s there’s rainbows and sunshine and try make your money off that?
Patrice Motsepe’s total assets are estimated at R29.9-billion by Forbes Magazine, so the question is, does that make him happy? We all know the answer to that.
“Man cannot live by bread alone, which is correct, but man can also not live without bread,” Motsepe continued.
“So the thing I want to emphasis is don’t always run for jobs because you think [you’ll get] a lot of money. Go for jobs that you love. If you can make a lot of money in the process, it’s even better.”
So at the end of the day the billionaire says reach for your dreams if your dreams can make you money, even better. Don’t turn money into your only dream or goal in life. So whether you find joy in making abstract art, trading cryptocurrencies like ethereum (although it is still a form of money), base jumping, or teaching, you should chase that rather than chasing the highest paid job. Joy often comes from the things that we do to satiate our soul, rather than the things we do based off of what society says is satisfying or successful.
Motsepe then closed off in saying: “When you apply for money from us, it’s a grant, a gift. All we ask is that, when you’re done, please try to help where you come from. We don’t want you to pay us back.”
So at the end of the day, do your best to make money from what you love.
