Crime lives everywhere, even more so in the lives of the rich and wealthy.
Soccer star Benni McCarthy was reportedly robbed at gunpoint in Melrose North on Tuesday afternoon just hours after landing at OR Tambo. According to Kickoff.com, the soccer star was robbed while getting a haircut at his barbershop in Corlett Drive. Can somebody say ‘planned robbery’?
“Three armed men walked into the barbershop, one stood at the door to hold guard, another kept the in-store customers under control while one walked straight up to Benni, and requested his watch, earrings and his wedding ring,” the source told Kickoff.
The source also added that the thieves were not focused on the other clients in the barbershop and it seemed Benni was their target and they sped off with his most valuable items.
The good news from this incident is that no one was harmed. Talk about a bad day at the hairdresser shuuu…
