Bahumi Mhlongo Scores An Acting Gig On New TV Show. She has landed a role in 1Magic’s drama comedy series ‘Grown Woman’, acting alongside experienced thespians like Linda Sokhulu, Bohang Moeko, Hlubi Mboya, Bahumi Mhlongo, Nandi Nyembe amongst others. The television production series revolves around adventure, family, grief and love.

The show produced by Red Peppers premiered on the 3rd of February, tells the story of Tina Hlatshawayo portrayed by Linda Sokhulu, who after the death of her husband Sbu, Tina – known to many as ‘Mrs H’ – has to to adjust to living without her husband not just for her two children Sakhile, portayed by Sakhille Mahlangu, and Noxee portrayed by Bahumi Mhlongo, but also for herself.

The daughter of media personality and Idols SA Judge, Somizi Mhlongo made her first acting debut portraying the role of Refilwe in ‘Umbuso’ last year, after graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree. Speaking to Channel 24, about her first acting role, she said, “I’m really, really excited about this role. Every time I say it, I think it’s going to get boring, but it really doesn’t. It’s like a new level of excitement. She’s [Refilwe Matlala] quite interesting. And I’m just really keen to see how, how she materialises on screen. She’s quite the character; she and I are as different as we are alike. We have similar experiences and backgrounds, maybe in different industries, but similar family backgrounds. She excites me. I really hope that people receive her. I judged her at first, to be quite honest. I hope people will just let their guard down with her and get to see who she is.”

The young actress took to her Instagram page to share a short, fourteen seconds attraction video to entice people to the drama comedy series. “TONIGHT| 9:30PM| MZANSI MAGIC #GrownWoman #Noxee“, the caption read.
