Asavela Mgqithi Returns To The Small Screen. When one door closes another opens and that has become the case for Isibaya actress Asavela Mngqithi. Mzansi Magic said goodbye to the much loved Telenovela that sadly came to an end recently. Fans were heartbroken by the reality of no longer seeing their favourite characters including Mngqithi who played the role of Ntwenhle Ndlovu.

Taking to Instagram, Asavela shared the exciting news of her new role on the second season of the Mzansi Magic drama series Abomama. The series which first debut in 2018 is said to be returning July 4th and we are counting down the days already. Not much details have been shared about the role that Asavela will be playing but there seems to be quite a few changes that have been made since the first season.

Character’s like Khanyi Mbau, will not be returning this season, because of other engagements and will be replaced by Uzalo actress Khabonina Qhubeka. Busiswa Mtshali is also said to be taking over from Nozuko Ncayiyane. Those familiar with the show will be happy to know that original cast members such as Kenneth Nkosi, Nokuthula Ledwaba, Joyce Skefu, Masechaba Moshoeshoe and Unathi Guma will be returning to the show.

Other new faces will include Isithembiso actress Nandi Mbatha and Isono actor Senzo Radebe. Khanyi Mbau has been busy with other career engagements including the shooting of the sequal movie Happiness Is A Four Letter Word. Ncayiyane is also said to be busy with shooting of Black Brain telenovela DiepCity where she plays the role of Nox.
