Anele Zondo is a true multi-hyphenate artist. Rapper, actress, TV and radio host, fashion aficionado, and all-around entertainer, she is fondly known to her fans as Ney The Bae. As she kicks off the second part of 2024, Anele has more than just new music to celebrate. With the release of her latest EP, “Vuka,” and the joyous news of expecting her first child, 2024 is shaping up to be a landmark year for the talented star.

“Vuka,” meaning “Wake up” or “Awakening” in Zulu, is more than just an ordinary EP. It is a melting pot of various genres woven together with Anele’s smoky voice, clever wordplay, and star-studded features. This project reflects growth, self-awareness, and artistic evolution. Anele shares, “My Baes will love this project. I took my time with it and it has been a labor of love. It’s a celebration of everything they love about me, but I am also sharing a different, more vulnerable side of me they haven’t heard.”

Speaking on the inspiration behind the EP, Anele explains, “I dug into my Zulu roots, my love for hip hop, and merged the two. I’ve been in the industry for seven years and I’m at a point where I am awake, self-aware, and ready for the next phase of my career and life.” Life is indeed evolving beautifully for Ney The Bae.

But “Vuka” is not the only significant project Anele is unveiling in 2024. She is thrilled to reveal that she is expecting her first child, a milestone that brings immense joy and anticipation. The ecstatic mom-to-be reflects, “Striking a balance between my biological clock and my expanding career has always been something I felt conflicted about. As women, it is always put to us to choose between either focusing on being a mother or focusing on a career. We are questioned when we consciously choose both.”

Anele’s journey to motherhood is one she has wished, prayed, and longed for over many years. “Motherhood is a journey that I’ve wished, prayed, and longed for for many years, and it’s teaching me what is possible when we allow nature to take its course. I’m both nervous and excited. I can’t wait for my audience and fans to take this ride with me. I’m going into my 30s with the greatest gifts of all…my Bae-be and my EP.”

With “Vuka” heralding a new chapter in her career and the impending arrival of her child, Anele Zondo is embracing the beautiful evolution of her life. Her journey is a testament to the power of balancing ambition with personal dreams, and she continues to inspire her fans with her passion, talent, and authenticity. As she embarks on this new path, both as an artist and a mother, Ney The Bae’s story is a beacon of hope and inspiration for many.
