Radio and TV personality Anele Moda is calling for accountability after a young boy used a racial slur against YouTuber Sonwabile in a viral video, sparking outrage across social media platforms.
The incident drew widespread attention when social media users disclosed the identity of the boy who referred to the popular star as an “EFF k****r.” In the video, Sonwabile, visibly shocked, expressed disbelief that such racist behavior persists in 2023.
Anele Mdoda, echoing the sentiments of many South Africans, expressed her dismay over the video and took to Twitter, urging action: “Let’s find these kids and make em trend.” She further advocated for legal consequences, stating. “Hope charges are pressed, drag the court case till they are old enough to go to jail.”

Members of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) also joined the condemnation. Godrich Gardee, an EFF member, tweeted. “Do we have his home address so that we can visit him for tea and have a talk with him on what it means to utter such words. We take a priest & police along to meet his parents.”
However, the incident underscores the persistence of racial prejudice, prompting a collective call for accountability and education. Anele’s advocacy for finding and addressing the perpetrators aligns with a broader societal push to confront racism head-on. The engagement of influential figures like Anele and political entities such as the EFF. Emphasizes the need for a united front against discrimination.
In essence, as the video continues to circulate, the hope for justice remains high. With the focus on both holding the young boy accountable for his actions. And fostering a broader conversation on eradicating racism from society.
