Media personality and Metro FM presenter Andile Ncube is finally bringing his dream home to life. The 43-year-old recently gave fans a glimpse of his mansion-in-progress through a video tour on his YouTube channel. In the clip, Andile shared that he is “very happy” with how the house is shaping up.
A week ago, Andile took his followers through the progress of his house, explaining the vision and showing a picture of what his future home will eventually look like. The mansion, still under construction, represents years of dedication, planning, and a clear dream that he is finally turning into reality.
However, the journey has not been without challenges. Just three months ago, Andile opened up about a painful financial mistake that cost him R100 000 while building. He spoke candidly about the setback, saying:
“I made a mistake and it’s the most costly mistake I’ve ever made. Anybody that’s building your house can only advise you, at the end of the day it’s your house and you make a decision. When my contractor said they need to do my slab, they gave me the costing for it. I said I’m going to try and see if I can get better costing. I did and they said it wasn’t a good idea.”
The presenter explained that his attempt to cut costs ended up backfiring. The cheaper option he chose led to work that had to be completely scrapped. He admitted to losing the full R100 000 because of working with people he had sourced on his own rather than following his contractor’s advice.
“It’s been two to three months since then, things have changed. I’ve picked myself up, admitted to my losses because I was the one at fault. I said let’s go and start all over again,” Andile explained. He also shared that all the previous work had to be taken out and redone, costing him both money and time.
Despite this major setback, Andile is determined to stay positive and keep his focus on the bigger picture. For him, the dream of having his perfect home outweighs the obstacles he has faced. “I’m very happy right now and it’s all coming along,” he added.
