Actress, Greenpeace ambassador, and skincare entrepreneur Amanda du-Pont is celebrating a major achievement with her luxurious skincare brand, Lelive. The brand has been named one of the top five tinted moisturiser’s by ELLE UK, ranking second only to NARS, a huge recognition for the young company. Du-Pont shared the exciting news with her followers on Instagram, expressing her gratitude and excitement.

“@elleuk has just named @lelive.africa top 5 tinted moisturizers! Number 2 after NARS! What a way to start the year,” she wrote. “Thank you to our community and a warm welcome to our growing UK community. Always follow your dreams and passions, God will literally do the rest.”

On her Instagram story, she couldn’t contain her joy, saying, “So I’ve just got news that we’ve been named in the top 5 moisturizer category by ELLE UK. Yoh, guys that’s wild! I think for me, I just always wanted to create accessible skincare, something using our native African botanics, backed by science, and making affordable luxury skincare. Launching in the UK has been one of the scariest moves of my journey. Guys, I just want to say thank you, like thank you. This is insane!”

Lelive Skincare, founded by Amanda du-Pont in 2020, draws on native African botanicals, aiming to create effective, science-backed products for all skin types, especially for those with problematic skin like du-Pont, who struggles with acne. The brand’s success has been rooted in a growing community that has co-created the range with her.

In an interview with Glamour South Africa, Amanda revealed that Lelive was born during the pandemic when beauty and self-care took center stage. “Lelive was inspired by the pandemic in 2020 and the constraints which meant that we all had to stay home,” she shared. “During this time, beauty and home care took preference. I created a community page alongside my personal Instagram which focused on health and wellness. It was here we encouraged a positive mental space.”

Since its launch, Lelive has gained a loyal following, with the brand now reaching international markets. Amanda reflected on the thrill of expanding to the UK, saying, “Launching in the UK is a dream come true! Since the release, we’ve had people from all over the world asking when we would be available for global distribution. It’s rewarding to be available in the UK as of June 2024, and we’re one step away from being available to our community anywhere in the world.”

This recognition from ELLE UK is another milestone in Amanda du-Pont’s journey, reinforcing her dedication to creating skincare that combines luxury with accessibility, while celebrating her African roots.
