Actress and entrepreneur Amanda du-Pont has made a powerful statement in the fight against Gender-Based Violence and Femicide (GBVF) after donating a generous R100 000 to Women for Change, one of South Africa’s leading advocacy organisations. The star announced the donation on her personal Instagram page as well as the Instagram account of her skincare brand, lelive.

Amanda revealed that the contribution was made through lelive, the skincare company she founded. Lelive, created by the Swazi-born star, has grown into a proudly African brand that is widely supported across the country. The actress explained that the donation reflects the heart and values of the brand and its team.

In the post, lelive shared a strong message of solidarity with survivors across South Africa and the world. The statement read:

“lelive stands with women. always. South Africa and countries around the world are turning purple in solidarity with survivors of gender-based violence and femicide, and to demand real action from our leaders. As a women-founded brand, our team is made up of people who live this reality in their homes, friendships and communities. This is not just a campaign moment for us – it’s personal. we’re contributing R100 000 in support of @womenforchangesa, one of the organisations leading national action and advocacy.”

The post also encouraged the public to join the movement, adding:

“if you’d like to stand with us, there are so many ways to support:

  • donate to @womenforchangesa so that they can continue to make an impact (link in bio)
  • sign the petition (link in bio)
  • join and amplify the purple solidarity + shutdown actions led by @womenforchangesa
  • share their posts and resources to keep the conversation going
  • check in with the people in your life; listen and support them

our hope is for a south africa where women and children can live free from violence – not just during 16 days of activism, but every single day.”

Amanda also shared her own heartfelt message as the founder of the brand, saying: “I just want to acknowledge that this happens across all genders and to children as well. there are some incredible men behind the movement, so we are no longer standing alone and we welcome our entire community to stand with us. to whoever has been affected, we stand and fight for you too.”

Women for Change is currently driving a major national awareness campaign. The organisation has called for a national shutdown on Friday, 21 November 2025 — a day before the G20 Summit in Johannesburg. Women and members of the LGBTQI+ community are encouraged to stop all paid and unpaid work to highlight their economic and social importance, while demanding urgent action to address the country’s GBVF crisis.

Her contribution not only strengthens the work of Women4Change but also sends a clear message that every effort counts in the fight to end GBVF in South Africa.
