More often than not, South Africans are quick to laugh at someone’s dreams and aspirations only because they think they are impossible to achieve or because they don’t have big dreams themselves.

A Story About Dreams…Let’s Go…

When Cassper first came out with his dream to Fill Up The Dome, a number of people told him that it’s impossible and surprisingly AKA was not one of them, he actually said that he support’s Cassper’s dreams and now we think we know why.

trevor and aka

The rapper has been representing the country on an international scale for over a year now and he’s really working on flying the South African flag high.

AKA is currently touring the USA he first attended the AFRIMMA’s where he walked away with two awards and he is yet to attend the MOBO’s, with his spare time Kiernan decided to pay a visit to another South African that’s really achieving big in the states, Trevor Noah.

It seems his visit with Trevor really got AKA thinking about his dreams and the things he still needs to do to put them all in place.

In a really long Instagram post the rapper opens up about his dreams and how proud he is to be African and he shared that one should always believe in themselves no matter what.

If you woke up feeling like giving up, AKA has a few inspirational words for you:

A Story About Dreams…

Good Morning South Africa ?? As you you start your day I want to tell you a story about dreams. Dreams are what make us get up in the morning, they keep the fire burning. In our country, too often are people are ridiculed for the size of their dreams. The courage that it takes, the belief in yourself to move to the other side of the world and leave your comfort zone requires a lot of guts and bravery. I see a lot of similarities in Trevor and myself. While we are on different paths and in different lanes, myself, much like the rest of this continent’s great talents, we are on a mission to change the way the WORLD sees us. There has never been a better time to be AFRICAN. It was really cool seeing first hand how big of a deal he had become in the states(the guy has ads in the subway, on the top of cabs ? even!). It was a bit surreal watching it LIVE because I’ve been a big fan of the Daily Show for years(even now I watch it, see him as the host and have to keep reminding myself it’s not a show on Mnet or something). I’ve known him for a while and besides him being in a bit of a rush(he’s a busy guy now) … He still took the time to make sure I was well taken care of and made sure we linked up after the show …. Definitely one of the most inspiring experiences of my life. So cheers @trevornoah ? … All the best and God BLESS ? … Keep making us proud ????.
