AKA Explains How The Bonang Breakup Helped His Relationship With Zinhle And His Mom! The rapper sat down with Slikour to talk all things his new album Touch My Blood and of course Bonang and Zinhle were a big part of the conversation.
Speaking about his good relationship with Zinhle as they co-parent their daughter Kairo, AKA said being out of his relationship with Bonang helped a lot.
“We’re just trying to do our best (on co-parenting). Now that I’m out of the relationship (with Bonang), I can now big her (Zinhle) up for being a great mom and being an amazing woman. She’s a great mom, she’s a great mother,” AKA said.
The rapper also mentioned how he sacrificed his relationship with his mom when he started dating Bonang. “My mom…our relationship, you know our relationship was trained for obvious reasons,” AKA said.
“I fu**en like sacrificed everything, like there’s no guarantees in love right? But if you let go of the sh*t that I let go of and you throw yourself hundred percent in, you figure like okay, we’re going all the way, right? Life doesn’t work like that,” AKA said.
AKA added that he’s not the hero in the story and takes full responsibility on his part in the whole mess.
“I was complicit in the whole saga. I fully knew what I was doing and what I was putting on the line. Maybe now I understand what I kind of didn’t appreciate when I had it.”
