Abdul Khoza Ventures Into Music As ‘Shemeni’. Award winning actor, Abdul “Shemeni” Khoza, who has appeared on a number of South Africa’s popular telenovela’s and movies, is broadening his career and dropping an EP.
Abdul’s stage name is Shemeni, taken from the name his character on The Wife was known as. After giving a stellar performance in Showmax’s series, Shaka Ilembe, Abdul has decided to share his love for music with the public.
The EP promises to showcase Abdul’s vulnerable side, and his relationship with hip hop as a culture. “Hip hop is my sound and people can expect a really different and vulnerable side of myself, because I sing close to home,” said Abdul.
“In terms of making songs that I first of all can relate to and stories which I believe are powerful and personal enough to tell in my music. But also there’s a laid back let’s have fun side of me too on this project.”
The launch of EP will be taking place at The Hang Awt 1632, in Tembisa, on 4 August 2023 at 18:00
