Late executive producer and actor Shona Ferguson was considered a gem within the industry and even though his wife thinks he was not celebrated enough, we think this major win proves that his talents didn’t go unnoticed.
A few days ago, Connie took to Instagram to celebrate Shona’s international award nomination at the Hollywood African Prestigious Awards. Ferguson Films bagged multiple award nominations for their Netflix mini series King’s Of Joburg, and the team is super excited to have walked away with three awards in total.
Taking to Instagram, Connie celebrated the success of the production with a lengthy heartfelt message, dedicated to her husband Shona who unfortunately was not present to receive his flowers. Shona bagged an award for Best Lead Actor In A TV Series and the actress expressed how moved she is by her husbands efforts in the industry that are still celebrated today.
Connie shared how proud she is of Shona claiming that he is dearly missed by many but will always be remembered for his impact and bold persona. The Queen actress congratulated Shona, claiming his impact is still felt from beyond his grave and will remain an inspiration for many.

Connie also quoted Romans 8:38-39 from the bible speaking to the unwavering trust she has in the Lord who has given her strength at the most critical time. Connie also celebrated the other wins that the production has bagged including Best series in Africa, and Best Supporting Actress which was won by Cindy Mahlangu.
The actress congratulated her team and Netflix as this is a joint victory for a production that they all shed blood sweat and tears for. Other’s in the industry also celebrated the late actors international win including co-star Thembi Seete, his daughter Lesedi and many more.
