Metro FM Respond To Somizi Announcing His Return To The Station. Somizi has been put on a break from his work duties following reports about his abusive relationship with his now estranged husband Mohale Motaung. After a recording of Mohale revealing the abuse acts that he suffered at the hands of the veteran star on numerous occasions went viral, Somizi was immediately taken off air and off of the Idols SA judging panel until further notice.
A social media user shared took to Instagram to share how much they miss hearing the reality star on the airwaves, especially his advice on the popular segment #AskAMan on Metro FM’s day time show The Bridge. Somizi gave his followers hope after claiming that he would be back on the air on Moday.
“Don’t worry I’m back on Monday” he wrote.
Entertainment broadcaster Phil Mphela has revealed that Somizi will not be making a return to the station any time soon after the SABC Group Executive for Corporate Affairs and Marketing Ms Gugu Ntuli refuted the claims and confirmed that Somizi is still on a break.
“The SABC can confirm that Mr Somizi Mhlongo is still on a break” claims phil’s tweet.
Following the viral audio clip, things went south even further when Mohale released a statement confirming the abuse allegations and detailed the number of times that Somizi physically harmed him.
Somizi’s estranged husband Mohale has confirmed that divorce proceeding are in fact underway however, he had no intention of ruining Somizi’s reputation as the recoding was leaked without his knowledge. The Rockville model and actor made it clear that he is not interested in receiving anything from Somizi apart from his belonging and a replacement car after his car was damaged by him following a tiff that they had.
