Metro FM Grants Somizi Time Off Following Abuse Allegations! It’s been an eventful week in South Ah with everything that’s been going on in showbiz. As the country has been in mourning following the passing of Shona Ferguson, they also didn’t forget to protest over Somizi remaining on air at Metro FM despite serious allegations made against him by estranged husband Mohale Motaung.
Earlier this week black twitter called out the national radio station for keeping Somizi on air on his radio show with Naked DJ as he continue to keep mum after releasing a statement through his team which stated he has left the matter to his legal team. Still, Somizi is yet to address the allegations himself but he’s speaking through his work. According to reports, Somizi has decided to step away from the air and Metro FM has reportedly granted him leave.
“The SABC can confirm that Metro FM SA management met with Mr. Somizi Mhlongo and he has requested to take some time off from work. Management has granted Mr. Mhlongo permission to do so. The Corporation has also noted the comments on social media about Mr. Mhlongo and we would like to point out that the public service broadcaster does not condone any acts of abuse and violence,” a statement by the SABC reads.
Last week Mohale made accusations against Somizi about alleged abuse and damage to personal belongings. Mohale has also not spoken out about the article that aired his story and the leaked audio.
