Malusi Gigaba Details How He Thought Ex Wife Norma Was Monied With A High Profile Job Before They Got Married. The State Capture Inquiry continues and the tea being spilled by both Malusi and his estranged wife Norma Mngoma is piping hot to say the least. Thursday saw the former minister back on the hot seat, where he contested all of Mngoma’s claims stating that she is only after a divorce settlement.
Throughout these jaw dropping revelations it seems like there is a case of mistaken identity within the marriage as Gigaba shared that he thought his estranged wife Norma Mngoma was an IT executive from a wealthy family. The shocking truth came after Gigaba was questioned if whether Mngoma was telling the truth about Dudu Myeni being the organiser of a honeymoon trip to Mauritius seven years ago that was allegedly funded by the Gupta family.
When they met years ago, Malusi claims that Norma deceived him with a fake high profile lifestyle. Gigaba also shared that he was led to believe that Mngoma had paid for the holiday out of her own pocket after inheriting her father’s wealth. According to Malusi, Norma claimed that her father was an award winning businessman living in New York and she would often visit him in the Big Apple.
Malusi shared that after Norma’s father passed away in New York, he allegedly left her a “very handsome” inheritance that was being held by an uncle that he had never met, but he knew that she was left a lot of money by her father.
“When I met Miss Mngoma, she projected to me an image of a high-flying individual who was from a well-to-do family. She had told me that her father was a businessman living in New York City and that she herself regularly visited New York and, on occasion, would win awards from Mark Shuttleworth that would require her to go do some work in New York” Malusi said.
The made up narrative of an affluent lifestyle is the reason behind Malusi not suspecting any foul play or questioning anything about the honeymoon, where they spent a few days at an exclusive resort in Mauritius. Gigaba added that it was a first for him to hear that the trip was organized and funded by Myeni and the Gupta’s
“I only heard it for the first time from Miss Mngoma. All along I had presumed her to be responsible for the trip and that she paid for it from her inheritance and wealth” he said.
Gigaba refuted all claims made my Ms Mngoma about what led to their divorce, and who initiated it. Mngoma had told the commission she was the one who initiated the separation proceedings however, Gigaba claims that he was the one who asked for a divorce from her.
