This weekend was a big one as we saw our deserving local entertainers scoop their South African Film and TV Awards (SAFTAs) for their hard work and dedication. We have seen a bit of drama surrounding the awards platform after announcing Katlego Maboe‘s surprise award nomination and revoking it a few days after.
Despite the drama, the masses have been super excited to see who walks away with the coveted golden horn award, and the moment of truth finally arrived this past weekend. The virtual ceremony was hosted by the beautiful Dineo Langa, Mpho Popps and Expresso host Graeme Richards. The South African Film and Television Awards took place as a two-night ceremony with a live, virtual event which saw actors and actresses accepting their wins with a virtual video message.
