We’ve said this before and we’ll say it again, Pearl Thusi is one celebrity that is not afraid to express herself or share why she doesn’t like someone in the industry.
Twitter has been abuzz, with people slamming Pearl for the beef she apparently has with Bonang.
Speaking to Gareth Cliff on CliffCentral on Monday, the radio and TV personality opens up about how the beef started and shares the feelings she has towards Bonang.
The interview happens just two days after Pearl allegedly threw shade at Bonang when she was talking about side chicks with Phat Joe on their morning show.
First, Gareth commends Pearl for being so outspoken and being able to voice her opinion and stand up for herself on social media.
“It’s important to speak your mind and be a real person, people see through the bullsh** and you can’t fool people all the time, maybe some of the time but not all the time,” she said.
He then goes on to ask Pearl about the relationship she has with rapper AKA.
“I think people like to take on the beef of the people they’re dating and I think that’s what’s going on, because AKA and I actually don’t have a problem. I don’t have any issues with AKA. I think he’s just supporting his girl and that means being against me,” she replies.
She then goes to explain her hostile attitude towards Bonang Matheba: “It’s a thing of finding out the stuff a person has been saying or doing without you even knowing. You know like a ‘snake in the grass’ type of thing, where you’re like… ’Hawu, I thought we were indifferent about each other’.
“Because we were like kind of cool with each other, hanging out in London during that Pharrell thing and then break-ups happen and then you find out things from the people who shouldn’t have told you about those things, and you’re just like, ‘Wow! You’ve dogged me so hard!'”
Pearl then adds that there are other things that have happened to other people but they’re too afraid to come out and speak about it. “But I’m not like that, I’m not going to be bullied by someone who thinks they’re better than me or are gonna put me down in order to make themselves feel better. It’s fine, if I go down, I’ll go down, but I’m not going to go down without a fight,” she said.
She went on to add that their beef has nothing to do with being in a competitive environment and shares that she gets along with a number of TV personalities, but they don’t see competition in each other.
In case you were wondering where the drama stems from, there you have it folks!
