South African singer Tyla has received another nomination at the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards, giving her a chance to win the Favorite Global Music Star award for the second year in a row.
The two-time Grammy Award winner has been nominated in the Favorite Global Music Star category, representing Africa at the 2026 ceremony. The nomination comes a year after she won the same award, adding another exciting moment to her growing international career.
The 39th annual Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards will take place on Saturday, 14 November 2026. Multi-platinum recording artist Alex Warren is set to host the event, which celebrates fan favourites across music, television, film and entertainment.
Tyla will compete against several international artists in the Favorite Global Music Star category. The nominees include Taylor Swift, representing North America, BINI for Asia, Karol G for Latin America, Zara Larsson for Europe, Olivia Dean for the United Kingdom and Tame Impala for Australia.
With artists from different parts of the world competing for the award, the category celebrates the global reach of music and the performers who connect with audiences across borders.
Tyla’s latest nomination is particularly notable because of her history with the awards show. In 2025, the singer hosted the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards, which took place on 21 June at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California.
She made history by becoming the first African artist to host the ceremony in its 37-year history. The singer also won the Favorite Global Music Star award during the event, making it a memorable occasion for both her career and African representation on the international stage.
Reflecting on the hosting opportunity, Tyla said, “Hosting the Kids’ Choice Awards was a dream come true. It’s amazing to celebrate the artists and creators who inspire young people everywhere.”
Her return as a nominee this year gives fans another reason to celebrate her achievements. After winning the award in 2025, the singer now has the opportunity to secure the title once again.
However, she will face competition from the other regional nominees, with the final result depending on the awards’ voting process and fan support.
The upcoming ceremony will reveal whether Tyla can repeat her previous success and take home the Favorite Global Music Star award for a second consecutive year.
Could the South African star win the award again? Fans will find out when the 2026 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards takes place on 14 November.
