South African radio and television personality Anele Mdoda is giving fans a closer look at her love story with her husband, Bonelela “Buzza” James Mgudlwa, in an upcoming wedding special set to premiere on Netflix.
Titled Stars and Vows: Anele & Buzza, the docu-soap will arrive on the streaming platform on 13 November 2026. The special will take viewers behind the scenes of the couple’s journey to marriage, capturing the celebrations, cultural traditions and emotions that surrounded their union.
Anele announced the exciting news in a joint Instagram post, inviting fans to join her and Buzza as they celebrate their love story. The announcement gave audiences a glimpse of what to expect from the upcoming production, which promises to showcase the couple’s journey from their pre-wedding festivities to their long-awaited exchange of vows.
“You are officially invited to witness a love story fit for royalty!” the announcement read.
It continued by highlighting the celebrations and traditions that formed part of their journey, adding that Anele and her “royal fiancé” were opening up about their relationship.
“A STARS AND VOWS lands on @netflixsa on 13 November 2026, and trust us, you don’t want to miss this one!” the post stated.
Fans were also encouraged to “Set your reminders, gather your people and get ready to celebrate friendships, culture and love!”
According to Netflix, Stars and Vows: Anele & Buzza follows the couple’s relationship, from the beginnings of their romance to their wedding celebrations under the spotlight of fame.
“From a budding romance to bridal bliss under the bright lights of fame,” the streaming platform describes the production, which explores the challenges, joy and anticipation that come with preparing to say “I do.”
The documentary soap and wedding special was created by Nomzamo Mbatha, Teddy Geldart, Vuyo Sowah and Pet Tasara, with Pascual Wakefield directing the production.
For Anele and Buzza, the series offers an opportunity to share a personal chapter of their lives with audiences. Viewers can expect to see the preparations leading up to their wedding, alongside the excitement, emotions and cultural traditions that made the occasion special.
The couple exchanged vows on 20 April 2025 in a vibrant wedding ceremony that celebrated Xhosa culture and tradition. Their union brought together love, family and heritage, making their wedding a memorable milestone in their relationship.
With the Netflix premiere approaching, audiences will soon have the opportunity to revisit the couple’s wedding journey and experience some of the moments that led to their marriage.
