Lalela wrote, “Five years ago today, a dream became a defining chapter of my life.

Being crowned Miss South Africa was more than a moment of glory; it was the beginning of a journey that would shape me in ways I could never have imagined. It taught me the beauty of purpose, the weight of responsibility, and the extraordinary privilege of being entrusted with a platform greater than myself.

Five years later, I look back with a heart full of gratitude. For the lessons, the growth, the people, and the doors that opened long after the crown was placed upon my head.

The crown was a moment. The woman I became is the legacy. Forever grateful. Forever Miss South Africa.”

Her post attracted attention from fellow celebrities and fans, who joined in celebrating her journey and the impact she has made since her reign.

Actress Amanda Du Pont was among those who praised Lalela in the comments, writing, “You have this Queen energy today even, can confirm crown is internal.”

Zoalize Jansen Van Rensburg also celebrated the beauty queen, commenting, “Wow time flies, but the weight of your impact lives on forever queen Lali.”

Lalela’s journey in the world of beauty pageants did not end with her Miss South Africa victory. She went on to represent the country internationally, competing at Miss Universe 2021, where she finished as second runner-up.

The following year, she reached another major milestone when she won Miss Supranational 2022, further establishing her name on the international pageant stage.

Five years after her Miss South Africa crowning, Lalela’s reflection highlights how the experience extended beyond the title itself. From representing South Africa on international stages to embracing new opportunities, her journey has been marked by personal growth and achievements.

As she celebrates the anniversary, her message serves as a reminder that while a crown may symbolise a defining moment, the lessons and experiences gained along the way can last a lifetime.
