Somizi Mhlongo Celebrates Exciting New Partnership

South African media personality, reality TV star and radio host Somizi Mhlongo is celebrating an exciting new chapter after officially partnering with LXX Sandhurst, an upscale boutique lifestyle and retail centre in Sandton, Johannesburg.

The partnership, which Somizi announced in July 2026, has now come to life with the launch of LUXX Bar, bringing together his larger-than-life personality, love for entertainment and passion for unforgettable experiences.

Somizi first became drawn to LXX Sandhurst after seeing a post on social media about someone’s experience at the luxury destination. Curious to experience it for himself, he visited Mila restaurant for lunch one Sunday — a lunch that unexpectedly turned into dinner.

Somizi wrote, “What started from a post I saw on socials about the amazing experience someone had at LXX led into me wanting to try it out. The next Sunday I went to Mila restaurant for lunch that turned into dinner coz time flew so fast as we were really having a great time. The food, the drinks, the ambience was out of this world. The cherry on top was finding out that there’s more to LXX than just only dining. I became a regular. And fast forward I’m so proud to let you know that l’m now a part of the family. The partnership was recently celebrated in true Somizi fashion, with a glamorous launch attended by friends, family and some of South Africa’s biggest entertainment personalities.

Taking to Instagram, Somizi shared moments from the launch of LUXX Bar, with musician Makhadzi among the guests and DJ Zinhle taking over the decks as the DJ of the night. Somizi’s daughter, Bahumi, was also present for the special occasion.

Reflecting on the celebration, Somizi shared just how much the moment meant to him.

He wrote, “On this day I was over the moon. Surrounded by friends and family. As we launched my partnership with @Ixxsandhurst #luxxbar. The face. The brand ambassador. The only address that matters.”

The team at LXX Sandhurst also officially welcomed Somizi into the family, describing the launch as an unforgettable night filled with his signature personality.
