South African actress and content creator Lerato Nxumalo has taken her fans on a beautiful trip down memory lane as she shared throwback pictures and special moments from her lobola ceremony, which took place one year ago.
The actress gave her followers a glimpse into the memorable celebration held in KwaMashu, Kwa-Zulu Natal. From her stunning traditional Zulu attire to the beautiful decorations and the presence of her family, the pictures captured the love, culture and happiness that filled the special day.
Sharing the memories on social media, Lerato Nxumalo wrote, “A throwback to one of the best days of my life (my lobola) magical. A dream come true. Two families, two cultures and two continents became one. A day I’ll cherish forever. A year ago.”
Her words show just how meaningful the ceremony was for her and her family. The celebration was not only about bringing two people together, but also about bringing two families and different cultures closer.
Lerato Nxumalo got engaged to her Swedish husband in October 2024. Their relationship later reached another important milestone when they celebrated their wedding ceremony in 2025.
The actress previously shared a short video from the ceremony, giving fans a glimpse of the intimate celebration. In the caption, she wrote: “Officially and legally, Mrs LP. Our officiating ceremony went a little something like this.”
The wedding took place outdoors, surrounded by lush greenery, elegant floral arches and a beautiful poolside reception. With only 15–50 guests in attendance, the couple kept the celebration small, private and personal, choosing to share the important moment with a limited number of loved ones.
Their journey continued to another special milestone in March 2026, when Lerato celebrated six months of marriage.
Reflecting on her marriage, she wrote on Instagram, “Can’t believe it’s been exactly 6 months of being married to the love of my universe. My dear husband, thank you for being the incredible man you are to me and to our families. I know God is real because despite us being worlds apart he still made a way for us to find each other. God is so so intentional I feel so blessed to be your wife! you make loving you so easy “So close no matter how far…” our song our story I love you endlessly. Half a year down a lifetime to go.”
Now, one year after her lobola ceremony, Lerato’s throwback has reminded fans of the beautiful journey that brought two families, two cultures and two continents together. From her traditional celebration in KwaMashu to her intimate wedding and six-month marriage milestone, her story continues to be filled with love, family and unforgettable memories.
