South African TV presenter Candice Modiselle-Sello is celebrating a major career milestone after taking home the award for Entertainment TV Show Presenter of the Year at the Basadi in Music Awards.

The celebrated presenter took to social media to mark the special achievement, reflecting on her journey, her faith and the recognition she has received throughout her career.

In a heartfelt message, Candice gave all the glory to her faith, writing, “Enthroned on my heart, exalted on stages. Jesus Christ, you are faithful. The other thank yous will come, but first… the glory and honour to the One who deserves it most.”

The award appears to have been particularly meaningful for Candice, who has spent years building a recognisable presence in South African entertainment. From her early days on YO TV to becoming an established television presenter, she has watched her career evolve while reaching audiences across generations.

In a video shared on social media, Candice opened up about what the moment meant to her and said, “How’s your August going because mine kind of smell, looks and feels like victory. Thank you Jesus Christ for this moment of honour. God remembered me and I do not take this lightly. Basadi in Music Awards I am grateful.”

She also reflected on just how long she has been a familiar face on television, joking about the experience of meeting younger viewers who remember watching her while growing up.

“Tell me why guys I’ve officially reached the female equivalent of uncstatus because I have people in their 20’s tell me Sis Candice I have watched you growing up and it made me realise I started on YO TV 10 years ago,” she said.

For Candice, the recognition represents more than simply another trophy. It is a reminder of the work, persistence and dedication that have shaped her career over the years.

“So if somebody is 25 they were 15 when I had officially become a recognisable face on their screens. My contributions have been recognised and honoured,” she continued.

The presenter further used the moment to encourage anyone who may feel uncertain about their own journey, reminding them that periods of doubt do not mean their purpose has disappeared.

“This is the moments that’s given me permission to say you know what, you’ve worked hard and you’ve ran your race. God is not done with you,” Candice said.

She ended with a powerful message of encouragement, saying, “Let this be an affirmation for someone who feels like  the monument they once had and the passion they used carry has not dwindled.”

With the Basadi in Music Awards honour now added to her career journey, Candice’s celebration is not only about winning, but also about recognising how far she has come and believing that there is still more to come.
