South African actor S’dumo Mtshali is receiving praise from viewers for his performance as Jonasi Gomora in the new Netflix drama series, The Polygamist.

In the series, Jonasi Gomora is a wealthy and charismatic banking magnate who appears to have the perfect life. He is a successful CEO with a seemingly happy marriage to his wife Joyce, played by actress Gugu Gumede. However, behind the scenes, Jonasi lives a complicated double life filled with secret wives, mistresses and hidden relationships.

Based on the bestselling novel by Sue Nyathi, the series follows Jonasi’s dramatic downfall as the lies, infidelity and manipulation that helped build his empire begin to destroy it.
