A couple of weeks ago we announced that TV personality and musician Zola will be making his way back to television with a new reality show.
Utatakho is a reality show based on helping people search for and find their absent fathers. Zola took a minute to address viewers ahead of the shows premiere tonight.
In a press statement Zola revealed that the excitement and interest from fans about the show has been overwhelming and exciting.
“There’s been so much interest that it’s been overwhelming in some ways to realise just how much people out there want to talk about this subject, how interested people are. It’s also very exciting – not just because of the attention the show is receiving, but because this is something I am very passionate about,” he explained.
Zola then explained that absent fathers is a real issue in today’s society and requested that viewers shouldn’t turn the show into a joke. He then stressed that people should remember that this is a reality and not a Hollywood movie and it’s hard for the parties involved so viewers should try to be sensitive towards every individual involved.
“I hope when watching the show our audiences also exercise some respect and when you comment on the show, you do so with compassion and kindness,” he added.
Zola expresses that show has taught him a lot thus far but the one thing he values most is that regardless of the situations and the odds that may be against you, there is always hope! “Against all odds let’s love and respect each other,” he said.
Don’t forget to support Zola tonight by watching Utatakho on Mzansi Magic at 19.30pm.
