South African media personality and Chery brand ambassador Ash-ley Ogle is embracing a new chapter in her life. The reality TV star recently appeared on the Mother’s Day cover of Batswadi Magazine alongside her baby boy, Kenzo, where she opened up about motherhood, fame, faith and raising a child in the public eye.

From becoming one of South Africa’s most talked-about reality TV personalities to now stepping into motherhood, Ash-ley shared how life has changed since welcoming her son. Although many women describe motherhood as life-changing, Ash-ley believes she is still the same person she has always been.

“There’s something deeply transformative about a woman’s first Mother’s Day. It almost feels like the closing of one chapter and the quiet beginning of another. As you sit in this moment with baby Kenzo, how are you feeling?” she was asked.

Ash-ley responded by saying, “Being a big believer of God means that no chapter is closed. It’s just adding another chapter to my life. And He just adds to the greatness that’s put onto it. With Him, there’s no mistake. It just feels normal, like everyday life. And it’s a blessing from God, an extra blessing.”

The media personality also reflected on how becoming a mother has affected her relationship with fame and visibility. While some people become softer or more humble after having children, Ash-ley said she remains true to herself.

“Becoming a mother has not changed me at all. Most people say that becoming a mother changes them, makes them more humble, more soft, more caring. For me, I think I’m still the same person. Well, I don’t think, I know I’m still the same person. It’s just with an extra Gucci bag on the side,” she shared.

Ash-ley also spoke about softness and patience, explaining that motherhood taught her to become more considerate of others. She believes God had already been preparing her for motherhood long before Kenzo arrived.

“I always allow myself softness, not just with being a mother, but I think that God was preparing me before having Kenzo to become a mom because I became a lot softer even before that. But softness has taught me to be more considerate of other people as well as to just be more patient, because you need a lot of patience when you have a baby,” she said.

When asked about sharing her son with the public, Ash-ley admitted that she plans to continue being open about her life. She explained that reality television introduced audiences to the real and unscripted version of herself, and she intends to continue living authentically.

“I got onto a reality show, and I’ve always loved reality shows and I believe that the reality show that I was on, was 24 hours of me doing everything… non-scripted me. And I’ve always just been authentically non-scripted me, moving in my own pace, in my own race,” she explained.

Ash-ley added that Kenzo is now part of her journey and that she will support whatever decision he makes in the future regarding public attention.

Motherhood has also made her reflect on healing, family and the emotional legacy she hopes to leave behind for her son. She credited God for helping her heal and shared her wish to raise Kenzo with strong faith and guidance.

“I believe that God is the only person that can heal. And I feel like he’s healed me in ways that others really can’t,” she said.

For Ash-ley, motherhood is not about changing who she is, but rather adding another meaningful chapter to her life while embracing faith, family and the journey ahead.
